I am a property & casualty actuary with 8 years of experience working for Chubb Insurance and an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.As a member of the Cyber Risk Committee and the Automobile Insurance Committee for the American Academy of Actuaries, I am excited to contribute to the profession.During my time consulting for Chubb, I have acquired significant experience in pricing personal lines of Auto, Homeowners and Rec Marine, such as rate filing, rate indications and other complex actuarial studies. I championed the use of the software “Radar”, made by Willis Towers Watson, as the primary pricing engine for the personal lines division of Chubb US, implementing its use for re-rating as well as proposed analysis for all 50 states. I am the pioneer of the Radar team in 2016 and the team has grown to 4 people as of 2019.When not working on Radar, I like looking at various ways in which work can be done more efficiently. This resulted in:• Time saving of 90% (approx. 30 hours per state) saved by standardizing the pricing workbooks per year.• Automating regular file download using Python, saving the manual effort as well as 8 hours per year.I am also involved in various committees in the office:• Baseline Training, to analyse the training need of employees and ensure they are up-to-date with industry trends• Learning Assistance Program, handling the actuarial exam application process as well as mentoring colleagues in passing the exams.Moving forward, I would like to work under a senior actuary who could challenge me and enables me to apply the concepts of all the exams that I have learnt.
