I worked as a Senior Software Developer in Computershare Governance Services. I was part of the CORE development team which is focused on refactoring the current global web based entity management software Computershare offers to its clients by enhancing it with many of the latest features of web2.0.Computershare has locations in 20 locations world wide and has enabled me to engage with offices and clients on a global scale. My role enabled me to work with the latest Microsoft technologies including Windows Workflow, Windows Communication Foundation, PageFlow and ASP.NET AJAX. Through my time at Computershare I have vastly increased my .NET experience, helping with design and delivery of complex development tasks within very tight deadlines and resolving live client deployment issues.I have taken lead in introducing MS Team Build to the development team creating an automated build / deployment process which has freed up a development resource which use to take 2days every week. One feature which I have worked extensively on is the use of AJAX with ASP.Net to improve performance and UI of the application. The CORE team has created a completely new set of homepages using the latest .NET features including Themes, Workflow, Custom gridviews, webparts and personalization. The application currently has over 1million lines of code and integrating with old VB6 com+ components has been challenging but rewarding.Responsibilities: • Programmer in ASP.Net 3.5. I worked as an Analyst Programmer for Citigroup plc specialising in .NET, SQL Server. My duties were extensive, ranging from highly critical production issues to development of new complex financial applications.My role was with a new team within Citigroup; one of the first teams to be transitioned to Belfast with primary duty to provide Wintel Support and Development. I have taken lead in a number of projects including a large scale archiving project introduing SSIS to the team, Taken charge of a database security project controlling our teams access to production database envroments as well as completing a highly pressured transition of a lot of existing applications.The main application which I was in charge of is an internal Compliance web application used 24/7 by over 20 countries worldwide. I have worked on a number of projects within Asidua. The main bulk of my work has been on a web dashboard application based on XML messaging which is used on large integration projects. The web application is based in .Net 2.0 using C# with a large SQL Server 2005 database.I have developed the application from scratch and it is now deployed as a licensed product within global clients. This application has been both challenging and rewarding and the product has achieved certification as a Microsoft Certified Product. I have been involved extensively in this process.Part of this role also seen me work on a SharePoint project for BT in Belfast and helped in the design phases of an E-School project. I have gained hands on experience on using Agile Software Development technique, SCRUM. I have a very keen interest in Web Development and have been working on my own web application projects on a part time basis since finishing University. This has helped me dramatically improve my own skill set and experience in my spare time. I have a real interest in the future of the web and use my part time business as a chance to gain understanding of new technologies including .NET 4.0 and Microsoft Silverlight.
