About Nicky Laird (Mciht)

With experience in transport, programme and project management, I currently manage several multi-million pound programme streams and have been responsible in ensuring that Aberdeen City Council is compliant both in its governance responsibilities and its commitment towards becoming net zero by 2045.I am very flexible in my approach to work and have developed my role to provide support to my team as well as colleagues in other areas of the organisation to reduce pressure on workloads. In my current role I am the primary liaison between the Project Managers at ACC and the external funding partners, where I represent the interests of ACC so as to ensure a good working relationship. I pride myself on my stakeholder relationships, which I have built up over the last nine years working in transport, as I have acted as mediator very successfully to ensure that ACC is able to maximise its grant funding awards and ensure that its reputation is maintained if not improved. I work with a number of different clients within transport, including consultants, councils, operators, other RTPs, Transport Scotland and members of the public.I hold a project management certificate through the Open University and I am experienced in managing detailed and complex projects both locally and with EU and/or Government funding, the most significant of which is currently the Bus Partnership Fund. I am responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on overall programme risk, as well as for identifying and highlighting any emerging risks or issues that are taking place at a project level. In my current role, I have developed many of the working practices currently used, including the reporting practices to ensure that any issues and updates are picked up in a timely fashion. Additionally, I was responsible for drafting the current Bus Partnership Governance Plan. Previously, I led on the freight packages for Civitas Portis whilst working at Nestrans, where I developed freight routeing and distribution strategies.

Listed skills include Powerpoint, Social Media, Microsoft Office, Time Management, and 18 others.
