I loved working in TV! As a business leader I was a catalyst for transformation. As a practitioner of Five Element acupuncture I seek to transform people’s lives by awakening the innate capacity we all have to heal ourselves in body, mind and spirit.According to ancient Chinese philosophy, to live a healthy and fulfilled life we have to live in harmony and balance with the laws of nature as manifest in the seasons. Five Element Acupuncture helps us to achieve this. Described in the classics as a system of internal medicine, rather than trying to heal symptoms we see these as distress signals and seek the underlying cause of imbalance in one of the Five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Like so many of us in the media world I was often consumed by anxiety and stress; trying to balance work and home, family relationships and friendships. By chance I was recommended a Five Element practitioner 30 years ago. Within two weeks of treatment, my symptoms miraculously vanished but I continued with treatment, using it to help me maintain balance through the highs and lows of life.When the opportunity presented to study in the Worsley tradition with the Kite Clinic, and then to practice this incredible system I started on a path of lifelong learning and discovery. My personal experience informs my practice too; I work with patients who are struggling with stress, addiction, anxiety and depression (as well as age related symptoms like the menopause and the symptoms of cancer treatment), but also with those who are well and want to stay that way.The training and practice of acupuncture has enabled me to integrate so many aspects of my life experience, values and philosophy in the service of others. To witness the power of nature to heal is humbling, and to participate in the process of healing is a privilege. I have a practice in Marylebone in London and Hill Head, Hampshire.
