About Niclas Luick

Advanced quantum simulators based on ultracold Fermi gases to tackle the unsolved problem of understanding the origin for high-temperature superconductivity. Led a research project resulting in the first realisation of a Josephson junction in a 2D Fermi gas (Science 369, 89 (2020)) and laid the foundation for the first observation of superfluidity in this.

Joined a team of 2 PhD students in the Regal group to improve the scalability of quantum simulators based on neutral atom arrays. Enhanced the loading probability of individual atoms in optical tweezers from ~50% up to 90% - thereby enabling a rapid production of uniformly filled atom arrays (Phys. Rev. Lett. 115, 073003 (2015)).
