Nic is a Senior Associate and registered architect at Conrad Gargett Architectus. Nic has established his career working both in Australia and overseas. His practice extends across a wide variety of projects ranging from public, education and institutional to infrastructure, mixed-use and master planning.Nic graduated with a Master of Architecture from the Queensland University of Technology in 2012. Upon graduating, Nic was awarded the QIA Memorial Medallion which is awarded to the most outstanding student in the final year of the architecture course at QUT. He was also awarded the Board of Architects Prize for achieving the greatest proficiency over the whole of the architecture program. Nic’s practice of architecture has received local and state recognition, including the 2018 Building of the Year Award for the Gold Coast Region and a Commendation at the Queensland State Architecture Awards for the Griffith University Aquatic Centre. Nic has also won an international design competition held by the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the Chamber of Architects of Turkey, taking out first prize in the International Award for Young Architects.Nic was responsible for the design and delivery of the Queensland Theatre’s recently completed, new home venue in West End. This project was shortlisted for an Australian Interior Design Award in 2019.Nic is passionate about architecture as an opportunity to challenge conventional thinking, to advance functionality and to enhance meaning with a respect for what has come before.
