Nic G. M. Masangkay, Cpc Email and Phone Number
Hi, I’m Nic Masangkay—a Peer Support Specialist at Plymouth Housing Group. In my role as a Certified Peer Counselor within Plymouth’s Behavioral Health Integration department, I use my lived experience with mental illness and substance use disorder to support tenants on their unique recovery journeys. My work is dynamic and collaborative, involving one-on-one meetings, group sessions, and community interactions with tenants across various Plymouth buildings. Whether through drop-in conversations or scheduled appointments, I bring empathy and quick problem-solving to each interaction. Additionally, I help operate Contingency Management, a program in partnership with Washington State University, which supports and sustains positive behavioral change. Before joining Plymouth, I volunteered with the Washington Warm Line at Crisis Connections, offering emotional support and resources to callers. Beyond my social services work, I have 14+ years of experience as a cultural worker in Seattle, starting with spoken word poetry and evolving into music. As an arts activist, I’ve used creative platforms to advocate for equity and social justice, which also led me to roles as a youth and all-ages arts educator.Currently, I’m completing my music project, When the World Is Ending, I Listen, supported by Jack Straw Cultural Center’s Artist Support Program residency and 4Culture’s Art Projects grant. My work—whether in behavioral health, arts activism, or education—is united by a common purpose: empowering individuals and communities, fostering equity, and driving positive change.
