My career started at Eskom as a pupil technician in 1991, advancing through the ranks to managing multi-billion Rand projects. In February 2008 I ventured out on my own, and registered the company AES Advanced Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd with the focus on energy efficiency management, importing, marketing, sales & distribution of products as an Energy Services Company (ESCo). In 2009 I provided a consulting service to Eskom on Transmission projects until three months after my appointment as Contract Specialist for Parsons Brinckerhoff. In 2010 I was offered the position of General Manager in Powertech SA (Pty) Ltd responsible for Turnkey Services Department in a division called Technology Integrated Solutions (TIS). In 2012 with the restructuring of Powertech I left to joint Trans Africa Projects as a Senior Project Manager to help establish a Project Office in the Cape Town branch.
