I founded the site buscatchers.com for comparative bus shopping. The app version was downloaded over 2000 times on the app store, and the site was featured on Tnooz: http://www.tnooz.com/2013/05/21/news/three-kayak-like-startups-for-bus-ticketing-metasearch/The site was shut down following legal threats by Greyhound and BoltBus.

I worked in Prof Rene Vidal's lab (Vision Dynamics and Learning Lab) on developing fast algorithms for video recognition. The paper describing some of this work was published in a IEEE conference and is available (along with the code) at http://www.vision.jhu.edu/assets/JimenezECC13.pdf.

Worked on the problem of clustering variability. Created a novel method based on random graph theory to assess the reliability of a clustering algorithm. Also worked on the application of SVM (support vector machine) classifiers to endometriosis classification and feature selection using cytokine data.

Worked on the Artificial Pancreas System (APS) for Type I diabetes under the direction of Francis J. Doyle. Developed biomedical software for Type I diabetes patients using C# and Matlab that integrated insulin pumps developed by two major medical companies (Roche and Animas) with UCSB's artificial pancreas system (APS) for use in clinical trials in the U.S. and overseas.
