Nico Mostert qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in 1996, starting his career in the agricultural sector being involved in cold chain management and food quality inspections on fresh produce and flowers destined for export. In 2003, Nico qualified as a food safety Lead Auditor. He is an experienced third-party auditor in various fields of food safety, having conducted numerous certification audits and inspections against a variety of Food Safety Management Systems and Good Agricultural Practices standards throughout South Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa, United Kingdom and Thailand. He has also assisted producers and suppliers in the food industry as a consultant to help implement and comply with various food safety standards required by retailers, including presenting numerous public training courses in the various food safety related disciplines applicable to the agricultural and processing sectors. In his previous management positions at NSF Africa, Nico was responsible for managing, developing and oversight of auditor competency to a variety of audit and certification standards, mentoring and development of personnel and people leaders in their related disciplines and leadership roles. Currently Nico is NSF's Regional Business Manager in the Agriculture TIC sector in Africa and Mainland Europe, supporting the Supply Chain Food Safety business leaders and Audit Delivery supporting function within NSF.
