I am a Professionally (RPEQ, CPEng & Pr.Eng) registered Civil Engineer with twelve years’ experience: two years in construction as a contractor, and ten as a consulting/design engineer specialising in water infrastructure and civil infrastructure for medium to large scale mining/industrial developments. As a contractor, I worked on large-scale mining and power station construction projects. This equipped me with invaluable practical insights, people management skills and a robust grasp of contract management dynamics. As a consulting engineer, I am specialized in design and design management water/hydraulic (pipelines, pump stations and conveyance) infrastructure with strong geotechnical and earthworks design skills in both the water and mining/industrial sectors. I have been able to develop my skill set with a combination of self-study, postgraduate studies, and exposure to large multi-disciplinary projects. My career has taken me across the globe. I have been fortunate to have worked in South Africa (2011-2018), New Zealand (2018-2021) and more recently Australia. This has exposed me to a range of different industries, people, cultures, and ways of doing business. Following a prosperous chapter with tier 1 consultancies I embarked on a entrepreneurial journey. In 2023 I established Strydom Consulting. My objective is to provide cost effective specialist water infrastructure engineering services to both private and public sectors.I take great joy from developing people and networking to help people find opportunities. I have a strong sense of responsibility, am action-orientated and a good communicator. I also possess strong leadership qualities, ambition, and I’m a team player. I am passionate about training, developing, and mentoring junior staff.
