Was employed by Kumba Resources (formerly Iscor) for sixteen years. Gained extensive hard rock experience at the Thabazimbi Iron Ore Mine where eight years (1992 -2000) was spent in the role of 3D geological modeller in the Geo-data department. Took up the position of Head, Geo-data department at Rosh Pinah Zinc and Lead Mine in Southern Namibia and progressed to the position of Chief Engineer, Grade Control (2000 – 2003). Joined MRM Mining Services (2003-2011) and left as a Senior Mining consultant to start own consulting business - Solum Consulting (2011-2012). Accepted Exxaro Resources’ offer for the position of Manager, Planning and Optimization (P&O), Mpumalanga Commercial Region (2012-2015) where valuable experience was gained in managerial and business strategy environment whilst overseeing MRM and Business Improvement departments. Currently holding the position as MRM Manager at Grootegeluk Complex from the same companyArea of expertise lies firstly in the understanding of the MRM value chain, identifying opportunities to enhance value and implementing solutions. Secondly well entrenched in mine planning and scheduling methodologies and systems. Excessive exposure and utilization of the use of Xpac Autoscheduler and Automatic Destination Scheduler for Mine Planning and Scheduling. Commodities worked on include Iron Ore, Platinum, Gold, Heavy Minerals, Uranium, Manganese, Vermiculite, Coal and Base Metals.
