Nico De Leeuw has studied Biomedical Sciences at the VUB in Brussels. He then joined the Worldwide Clinical Data Management Organization at Merck Sharp & Dohme Europe Inc., a pharmaceutical multinational based in the US. In parallel with his job, he followed a Masters in Clinical Data Management at the Kingston University in London and an Executive Masters in Business Administration at the Flanders Business School in Antwerp.Nico has over 20 years experience in various functions of the pharmaceutical industry. As Director of the Clinical Data Management department at Merck Sharp & Dohme, he was responsible for supporting all operational phase I-V Clinical Data Management activities in the EMEA region. He was involved in the lean re-organisation and streamlining of the strategic and operational processes. Part of that re-organisation was to ensure the creation of an appropriate performance management program for all clinical data management activities.Nico left Merck Sharp & Dohme to start his own management consulting company; i.e. Qsolution. He has been leading several high-level projects on CDISC integration and Clinical Data Standardisation, more specifically, for pharma companies like Boehringer Ingelheim, Johnson & Johnson and Mundipharma.Nico followed the “Corporate Performance Management” program at the EHSAL in Brussels (which is a unique curriculum in Belgium) and he was also certified as a Balanced Scorecard and KPI professional. Currently, as Managing Director of Qsolution, he is strongly promoting the integration of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) end-to-end services in medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a special focus on CPM business training, Strategic and Analytical Intelligence services.
