I always wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up, and here I am well into my career in… you guessed it Payroll. That is close to being a lawyer, right?I did not fall into payroll through the traditional means, I came to payroll through a customer service track. I spent 15 years in customer service and realized I needed more. An opportunity presented itself to take on a role in the accounting department, which enticed me with the thought of learning a new skill set, so I jumped at the chance to take it. After a couple of weeks, my boss asked if I wanted to take on payroll. I had no idea what that meant, but not being one to turn down a challenge, I said sure why not. 18 years later, I am still in the payroll field, not only utilizing my payroll knowledge but also my customer service skills. My payroll journey has led me down interesting paths: • I found both educational and peer networking opportunities by joining: PayrollOrg, The Denver Chapter Payroll Association, Southern Colorado PayrollOrg, and Northern Colorado Payroll Association. • I continued my educational journey and have earned the following credentials: o
