I specialize in commercial women’s fiction and have also worked on narrative non-fiction,memoir, historical and literary fiction. Clients include HarperCollins, Cornerstones Literary Consultancy and Curtis Brown Creative.I am a consultant editor for Cornerstones Literary Consultancy and as one of two submissions editors, I assess advanced manuscripts for their scouting programme across all genres.

I am a bestselling and prize-winning author with eight novels published to date.My first novel The Out of Office Girl was published by Headline in 2012 and was shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists’ Association Awards in the Romantic Comedy category. I have since published eight further novels including two YA books with Orion. My sixth novel Baby It’s Cold Outside (Penguin/Michael Joseph, 2021) was an Irish Times bestseller and This Year’s For Me and You (Penguin/Michael Joseph, 2022) won the Romantic Novelists’ Association award in the Festive Holiday/Christmas Romance category. Last Christmas at Ballyclare (Penguin/Michael Joseph, 2023) was also an Irish Times bestseller.

I taught classes on different aspects of craft including ‘Character’, ‘Setting’, ‘How to Edit your Novel’ and ‘Writing Romance’, all consistently highly rated by students.

• I was responsible for writing online and offline campaigns to promote beautifuleditions of classic literary works.• Reporting to the Head of Digital and Creative, I helped manage the flow of workthrough three departments with multiple stakeholders.

Starting as an editorial assistant, I was promoted to assistant editor and then editor and commissioned and edited titles including My Mad Fat Diary (now a Channel 4 series), Northern Sky by Mark Radcliffe, A Friend Like Henry and Trust Me, I’m a Junior Doctor.
