I joined Groundwork as a volunteer in Jan 2009 and I won Outstanding Contribution Award for Yorkshire & Humber in 2009. My current role has given me experience of managing budgets and projects to support communities and enable them to participate in the delivery of improvements to their environment. Since Joining Groundwork I have become known for having a passion for helping communities to realise their hopes of improving and taking ownership of the areas where they live.There are a lot of fantastic projects and agencies delivering inspirational services and projects across the city for vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds. The thing I love most about my work is enabling people to seize the opportunities they are given and removing barriers.Projects I am currently involved in delivering :-Environmental Projects across Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale,Increasing Local Grow your own Food Provision,Development of Environmentally based youth projects across the City A City wide project working in partnership with Mears and Leeds City Council to deliver a Urban Oasis project linking young people, residents and organisations together, to improve the green spaces and estates of the people living there Youth Employment InitiativesHealthy Holiday - offering a day of activity and a healthy lunch to families across Leeds during the school holidays CSR Team days co ordinator - Liaising with businesses to plan and deliver their Corporate Days. Everything from a day on the river to a day helping out a local community group. We do our best to make sure the day is run smoothly and clients get the most out the day while giving something back to their communitiesInterested or know a business that is?
