Senior member of a very active in-house legal team for the largest developer and operator of large scale ground mounted and rooftop solar photovoltaic projects in the UK. Role included:- Advising on the development of ground mounted and rooftop solar projects, including title due diligence and negotiation of options, leases, substation leases, easements (in favour of the developer SPV and also the distribution network operator), early works and compound documentation and associated power purchase agreements.- Acquisition and sale of developed and in-development projects, including due diligence and drafting of property aspects of the asset purchase or share purchase agreement.- Financing and re-financing of projects. - Advising the business’ busy asset management team on the day to day operation of constructed sites.

Qualified as an associate in the Real Estate Department in September 2008. Secured experience advising on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including sale and purchase, development, landlord and tenant matters, financing and property advice on corporate acquisitions. Developed particular interest and expertise in domestic Energy and Infrastructure real estate law advising on cross-country gas pipelines and wind developments, culminating in advising on securing development consent for the first gas pipeline consented under the Planning Act 2008. Role involved: securing land rights by private agreement with landowners, statutory undertakers and utility companies, advising on compulsory acquisition powers and strategy, and drafting the Development Consent Order and other application documents.

Training in the Real Estate, Property Risks Litigation, Commercial and Intellectual Property departments.

Secondment to the in house legal team at SportsDirect plc advising on real estate, intellectual property, general commercial and litigation issues.
