About Nikki Clark-Groom

With a history in sales, marketing and office management, I decided to start a business as a Virtual Assistant in 2003, offering services in administration, data input, book-keeping, marketing, PR and more. I taught myself website design in the quiet, initial 6 months of trading, and this skill became a vital part of my business. I branched out into website design, SEO and niche areas of online marketing. I have worked with top online marketing agencies and data consultancies, and learnt some exciting skills from masters in their field, including:Search Engine Optimisation, incorporating online reputation repairSearch marketingSocial media marketingOnline data collection, analysis and presentationSoftware developmentThese now form the main areas of services offered, which I do on behalf of various sized organisations, individuals and agencies.I'm always looking for new opportunities, so please do get in touch if you have any requirements.

    Owner
Virtual Assistance By Nicola Clark Feb 2003 - Present
    Margate, Kent
Virtual Business Support, Website Design and SEO.In my many years of running Virtual Assistance, I have worked with a wide variety of clients, on a wide variety of tasks. Some of them are one-off's, some of them I reluctantly parted with as they out-grew virtual support (something I am always proud of, when I help a new business get off the ground!), and I'm happy to say that many who I do regular work for, or keep popping back every once in a while when they need some extra support.Although, as explained above, my niche is now really website design, online marketing, SEO, SMM and data collation / analysis, I am well-versed in so many different tasks, that I'll end up doing a spot of book-keeping or maybe sales prospecting or go back to the beginning and get stuck into some old-fashioned admin! At my core, I am a Virtual Assistant, and will be happy to assist you and your business, however you may require (within reason, though, of course!).
  • Audiens
    Customer Success Manager
    Audiens May 2023 - Jan 2024
After working with Audiens remotely for a couple of years, I finally took the plunge and accepted a full-time, permanent contract in May 2023. I headed up the Customer Success department, speaking to customers from all over the world and ensuring they have a great experience. I worked closely with the product, engineering and marketing teams to help develop the best product possible.I also covered HR and executive assistant duties.Sadly, as a start-up, we had some trouble with funding and a round of redundancies were made in the second half of 2023. At this point, I also took over the company finances when the Head of Finance left, and we all pulled together to try and keep us afloat while we secured funding. Sadly, this did not happen, and Audiens shut down on 31st January, 2024.

  • Alive Fitness And Natural Health
    General Manager
Alive Fitness And Natural Health Jan 2012 - Jan 2013
    Brighton, United Kingdom
As part of my expanding portfolio, I spent 2012 managing an entire business 100 miles away! This included managing the staff, procedures, HR, dealing with sales, marketing, prospecting, finances and day to day issues - everything you would expect an on-site manager to do, at a fraction of the cost! Sometimes you can have a great team in place, but everything seems shambolic without somebody to bring it all together. This is where a virtual manager comes in ... granted, it doesn't work for all business models, and does take a bit of setting up, however it can save you a fortune in the long run if you think about the cost of having a full time manager on site, and the time that your staff might currently be wasting by having no-one overseeing their workload.Upon reaching the end of my year-long contract, I was proud to note that productivity was higher, cashflow was better and we had had the best year for sales / cancellations in a long time. I'm confident that the onsite team can now continue with this upward momentum!
  • Ism Search & Social
    Hr, Admin, Seo, Paid Search
    Ism Search & Social 2003 - Oct 2011
My job description at ISM was pretty comprehensive! I initially started out offering admin support and website maintenance ... this graduated to microsite building, SEO and paid search, where I learnt from masters in their field, and finally I was doing all of the above plus virtual HR for the growing team of office staff! From starting with just myself and the director, the company became a large London consultancy. After 8 years of virtual service, I was asked to join the office-based team, but unfortunately that was not an option and we reluctantly parted company.

  • Cromptons Leisure Machines Ltd
    Sales & Marketing Executive / Executive P.A.
Cromptons Leisure Machines Ltd Jul 1998 - Nov 2001
I was employed as a second person in a busy marketing department. My duties included writing, producing, editing and publishing the bi-annual company newsletter, maintaining company website and database, advertising and press releases, yearly survey, issuing test reports and organising exhibitions.January 1999 – Joined UK Sales Administration department, whist retaining marketing duties. This entailed maintaining the company stock list, arranging transport within the UK, invoicing, crediting and liaising with internal departments such as customer service, accounts, development and production. June 1999 – Promoted to UK Sales Administrator, in charge of above department.November 1999 – Promoted once more to Export Administrator, Executive P.A to the M.D and Marketing Executive. This involved liaising with foreign customers, shipping agents and customs and proved to be the more intricate and rewarding side of sales admin. February 2000 – Promoted once again to Sales & Marketing Executive and Executive P.A to the M.D and this is the role I held until I left. On the sales side, I took over the running of both the UK and export administration offices, overseeing 2 full time and 2 part-time staff. At this time, the Marketing Manager had left the company but continued to work part-time on a consultancy basis. I therefore ran the entire marketing department. In this time I re-vamped the company newsletter, oversaw the implementation of a new company website and installed a new company database for which I was systems administrator.
