I earned my Master Degree at La Sapienza University in Rome with a final dissertation concerning Advanced Dynamic Analysis of a Railway Bridge, and I was called by my Supervisor, Prof. M. P. Petrangeli, to collaborate at the design for the New High-Speed Railway Rome-Florence bridges.The collaboration lasted two years afterward I was employed as Structural Designer at AIC Progetti s.p.a., Rome, Italy, a Company offering a broad range of professional services. At that time I designed two long span cantilevered bridges, and many other prestressed and steel-concrete viaducts in Italy, Africa, and South America, so acquiring knowledge in international standards and Eurocodes.Starting from 1993 I kept directing the AIC Progetti Structural Department but also started up my own professional studio designing my first incremental launching prestressed bridge, directly charged by the Contractor.In the ensuing ten years, my knowledge extended by designing complex works for main Italian Contractors and, tanks to Tecnicavi, which designated me as Director of Post-Tensioning for the SNAM GNL Reservoirs in LaSpezia Harbor, I began to specialize on prestressing systems.On January 2003 I founded the “Analisi e Progettazione Strutturale s.r.l.” (www.aps2003.it) with the purpose to extend my own professional activities as well I was appointed by the major Italian Contractors and Engineering Consulting for designing many national and international bridges and works. In 2015 Crisis effects led to a sizeable lowering in APS activities and financial hardship. The scarcity of Italian GOV investment suggested me to consider APS experience ended and I was selected by Italconsult for directing its structural department. Post-tensioned Viaducts in Dubai and long span steel-concrete Viaducts in Italy represent the natural continuation of my activity as a bridge designer, at which it has been added important representative roles such as International Expert.
