Mentors work closely with small groups of eight to ten students facilitating discussion and activities and providing supplementary college admissions and financial aid advisement.I was interviewed and featured re benefits of Camp College for students, staff and host institutions, June 2018.

• Plan and conduct student outreach and retention activities • Establish and maintain relationships with current partners, program participants, families, school community and alumni. • Counsel high school students about post-secondary options in group and one-on-one sessions including referring students to special opportunities such as overnight college trips and scholarships • Facilitate college readiness course to juniors and seniors• Execute college readiness, college transition, and financial aid workshops/programs for school community• Plan and execute all college access related trips and activities, particularly overnight college trips• Inputs and manages data entry

Parent Coordinator• Increased outreach to Parents via Skedula, mass calling-at first with Global Connect and now with Blackboard Connect-, as well as personalized emails, calls and individual relational meetings which has increased parental involvement and awareness of school activities in general• Conduct outreach to engage parents in their children’s education by encouraging and assisting parents and students to register for their account. As well as provide individual training to newly registered parents.• Convene regular parent meetings and events around topics of key concerns to parents • Organize open school night and other events to increase parental and community involvement, and create a welcoming school environment to parents College Advisor• CUNY College Now: Inform, encourage and register interested and eligible students• Coordinated first ever college fair on campus with 17 colleges/universities plus 3 CBOs• Coordinated 11th grade Spring 3-days, 2-nights College tour, visiting 5 colleges over a span of 3 states• PSAT Day, 10/15/2014: In 2 days, organized local college tours for all 9th graders plus in-school conference style workshops for the 12th graders- Applying to College, Applying for Scholarships and How to Avoid Senioritis

Administration• Input and update computer based directory to ensure annual performance reporting is in adherence to accountability standards of preservation of student files• Organize onsite visits at target schools by college admission staff and chaperon college information sessions and tours by connecting with personnel at institutions of higher education• Collaborate with program staff to strategize and design plan of operations by analyzing cost, both money and labor, and participants’ needs• Conducted research on academic, demographic and sociological factors of potential target schools and area to support grant submission which resulted in successful federal refunding of program for five additional yearsCounseling• Partner with target schools’ staff to identify low income-potentially first generation potential students to promote and offer program services• Recruit and enroll eligible students in target schools and community by conducting group and individual presentations• Coordinate informational workshops for participants and their parents to prepare for college and increase financial literacy and awareness of available resources by soliciting reputable financial literacy facilitators• Direct and counsel participants in completing admissions’ and financial aid applications to ensure completion and submission to enhance students’ success of admission to post secondary institutions

• Implemented activities that aligned with youth’s interest to enhance summer enrichment of low income, urban minorities by expanding awareness including coordinating and executing group games to increase social development• Facilitated an average of 30 students, ranging from Pre-K to 5th grade by helping with homework, reading and writing skills and created weekly schedule of group games and activities for physical and mental stimulation and to promote positive group dynamic • Mediated numerous incidents of peer conflict to help them find resolutions of interpersonal conflicts through communication and model appropriateness
