I lead a team of IP advisors at UniServices (the contract research and commercialisation arm of the University of Auckland) and am a patent attorney, solicitor, and engineer. My team and I provide intellectual property support to the University of Auckland staff and students and manage a large IP portfolio. We work with researchers, students, University spin-out companies and investors, to take research and technologies to market. I have a strong interest in electrical and mechanical technologies and a particular interest in medical device technologies. I am an advocate for the education of women and girls in STEM and women working in science and technology. I am a strong supporter of female students in business and law and have worked with many as a mentor over a number of years. I regularly provide presentations and lectures on IP and commercialisation to researchers, students and the wider community.
