Nowadays' ease of travelling around the globe is one of the massive privileges of our generations. But with great power comes great responsibility. It is our duty to preserve a world that will still be worth travelling and living in. Not only in 10, but also in 50, 100 and 500 years time. I firmly believe that the only way to achieve this, is to actively influence the way we travel. The key is not to minimize tourism (because that won't happen), but to steer tourism into the right direction:By protecting local culture, promoting diversity, preserving native nature, ensuring economic fairness, avoiding mass tourism and minimizing our footprints on the world's diverse regions, the climate and the people, we CAN make a difference. I myself have come quite a way from my unreflecting beginnings in tourism, to learning and growing more day by day into understanding that "what we do, makes a difference - we only have to decide what kind of difference we want to make".
