Mr Bargier is a senior water management expert and an international hydrosystems specialist. He has more than 15 years of experience in integrated water resources management, water quality monitoring, environmental management and evaluation, capacity building, climate change adaptation and institutional strengthening. He combines education and experience in water quality and hydrology with high level monitoring systems design and management capabilities.Mr. Bargier has taken his expertise in integrated water monitoring systems overseas to more than 10 different countries and has helped host country counterparts build decision-making systems: China, Sri Lanka, India, Sénégal, Mauritania, Chad, Gabon, Madagascar, Comorian, Guyana, New-Caledonia, French OuterMost Regions (Caribbean islands, Réunion island).He has an impressive experience of transfer know-how and implementation of EU Water Framework Directives). Among his international achievements, he led the preparation of a master plan for water. He has developed and conducted workshops and specialized training sessions in IWRM and water quality and quantity monitoring systems.His work focus on designing and implementing methodology for assessing the water footprint for all human activities. He developed and conducted a set of major long-term pilot studies of pioneering indicators to measure hydrosystems impacts: physico-chemical, biotic, hydromorpholocal and ecosystems services. He brings extensive experience in water quality, streamflows and wetland.
