Having started my higher education in Biological Sciences, I discovered my enthusiasm for computational methods that help to exploit the vast amount of data and knowledge contained in such domains.In my position as a research associate at the Scientific Computing Center (SCC) at KIT, I have recently worked on and contributed to the planning and management of several scientific projects (related to domain tasks such as MRI metadata curation for materials science or energy research image data application to AI) that implement solutions for realising data spaces that adhere to FAIR Principles, aiming to make data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. To achieve these goals, our group develops concepts and implements the corresponding data models. Here, I am able to apply and improve my skills in object-oriented programming, graph database architecture design using semantic web methods, and data modelling. Documenting and publishing project outcomes has greatly improved my writing skills and ability to grasp the complexity of a project. In addition, my work benefits greatly from the domain knowledge I acquired during my Biological Sciences studies, especially in the area of requirements analysis and product applicability.
