Currently performing stress analysis work for the next generation of reusable space vehicles. Analysis efforts include initial sizing, stress evaluation and design improvements for a variety of space-based systems.

Performed multiple structural analyses on various components for first and second stages of launch vehicles. Analyses include static structural analysis for strength, high-and-low-cycle fatigue assessments. As part of this analysis process I performed thermal analysis as well as temperature and pressure mapping into static structural models. Geometry modification and optimization used to improve structural margins and reduce mass.

● Analyzed various turbomachinery components using ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Workbench● Created 3D and 2D models of static and rotating turbine hardware using ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Workbench● Ran multiple types of analysis in 2D and 3D models on static and rotating hardware as applicable, including limit strength, high-cycle fatigue, low-cycle fatigue and resonance analysis● Created macros using ANSYS Mechanical APDL and Microsoft Visual Basic for various purposes, including mapping thermals and running and post-processing transient structural analysis● Presented analysis results in person and via web meetings to internal and external customers● Prepared solid geometry models for FEM creation using Unigraphics NX● Wrote structural analysis memos summarizing the results of several analysis
