During my one month contract with Ryan Aerospace, I designed a new universal twist throttle controller from the ground-up for their flight simulators. This was an exciting new industry to break into - combining design, electronics, 3D printing and manufacturing!

In this incredible opportunity with the Herston Biofabrication Institute, I have been tasked with creating an Open-Source, fully (home) FDM 3D printable Trismus Jaw Rehabilitation Device for a wide range of patients - from people with head/ neck cancer to people that have undergone oral surgery. Current solutions are either very expensive ($850+ AUD) or cheap and harmful - craft sticks are commonly used, and can cause damage to teeth and the mouth. My product, named OpenTrismus, is cheap and fast to produce. It is fully featured, exceeding practitioner/ patient requirements - without requiring anything but a roll of filament and a 3D printer. OpenTrismus has been developed with real-world testing and feedback, receiving universally positive feedback from top RBWH maxillofacial surgeons.Please see the pictures and descriptions of OpenTrismus in the media section! This project is still ongoing, with a website being thought out, and TGA/ medical/ product legalities.

At Jaycar, I have put my diploma to read-world use, helping customers with anything from technical, specific circuitry solutions to sharing my extensive knowledge of 3D printing.
