Dorchester Brewery Square development-RIBA STAGES A/B/C/D/Planning applicationsLocated in the historic Roman town of Dorchester, Brewery Square is an extensive mixed use redevelopment of the former 4.6 hectare Eldridge Pope Brewery, situated in the heart of the county town centre between the main shopping street, the market and Dorchester South railway station. This great new urban quarter has at its centre ‘Brewery Square’ formed by two of the fine listed Brewery buildings and the new buildings, creating a link between the town centre to the north and the proposed solar powered train station to the south. The square is one of several character areas that form the masterplan, informing the particular architecture, scale and use of the buildings within them. These are linked together by transition buildings, creating a rich diversity in a very high quality hard and soft landscaped urban setting.
