Nicolas Menu is a Paris-based director and photographer. After years as a successful art director, Nicolas has returned to his first love: film directing and photography. With his uniquely sensitive approach to both still and moving images, Nicolas has developed a distinctive aesthetic of strength, elegance and creativity. An incredibly gifted and visionary director, Nicolas’s body of work reflects a remarkable versatility ranging from beauty, still life and intimate editorials to a multitude of commercials. With a rich mastery of technical skills, his exhilarating, textured photographs and films feel both daring and physical.Nicolas's background in creative direction and fashion really shines through in his highly original, fast-paced commercials featuring inspired ideas and agile technical transitions. His work has been exhibited at the International Festival of Fashion and Photography in Hyères in 2014 and 2017, and at MoMu Fashion Museum Antwerp in 2014. He has been commissioned by fashion designers and brands including Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Proenza Schouler, Lancôme, Bulgari, Givenchy, Estée Lauder, Dolce & Gabbana, MAC, L’Oreal, Helena Rubinstein, Sephora, Diesel, Jimmy Choo, Elie Saab, Shu Uemura and Viktor & Rolf. His editorial work has appeared in Vogue, Interview, Numéro, A Magazine Curated by, Harper's Bazaar and GQ.For Bulgari in 2023, Nicolas directed its B.zero1 jewellery campaign with Lisa from South Korean group Blackpink and the Bulgari Serpenti collection 75th anniversary global campaign with brand ambassador Hikari Mori. Recent work includes a L’Oréal Paris makeup campaign with the brand’s new global ambassador Kendall Jenner, a Bulgari spot with actress Liu Yifei and Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique ad with actress Zendaya which he co-directed.
