Research activities and main skills:- Carbon Nanotubes (MWNTs and SWNTs) and metallic nanoparticles- Cold plasma technology- Nanoparticles and thin films growths by vacuum processes (including Physical Vapour Deposition by magnetron sputtering and low-pressure evaporation)- Surface analysis and vacuum techniques (XPS, RBS, PIXE-PIGE, ...)- Experiments automation from scratch (sensors, actuators, stepping-motors, custom regulation by programming and interfacing AVR-microcontrollers), including computer control by tailored software (VB and C# applications, linked to µC through RS-232 or TCP/IP interface).- A/D conversion, and I2C communication for sensor output readouts
