Engineer Systems Architect
Current• Worked with a team of engineers on the development of controls algorithms, plant models, and testing procedures for a funded government research program• Managed and repaired Linux machines that utilize a real time framework to help with testing deployed software as well as maintained a server rack by integrating hardware and managing ARINC, 1553, and ethernet/IP communication channels between different devices• Modeled aircraft subsystems (electrical and thermal) within Simulink to test model predictive controls, iterating on the model to increase complexity and achieve desired real world behavior• Improved control system architectures for the plant model plane, as well as the algorithms utilized, enhancing the simulation performance at run time allowing for better tracking of product deliverables and demonstrate achievement of faster timing rates on flight approved hardware• Integrated an off the shelf quadratic program solver into the control algorithms using a C++ API/interface within MATLAB that then autocoded, resulting in a 60x faster execution time• Created MATLAB projects to develop large repos that were managed in Bitbucket and updated via Git that held algorithms and helped to automate initialization of the models• Met with the customer regularly to go over milestones, technology achievements, set future goals, and address any potential roadblocks in an Agile Development setting• Researched new tools and software to address program needs for various problems, improving workflow, allowing for further investigation into unknown behaviors, and teaching new procedures• Recruited into integrating two different research programs, allowing for broader utilization of both developed algorithms across different platforms
