Tesco Express October 2010 to November 2014As a Customer Assistant, I became experienced in all aspects of a small and very busy retail outlet, obtaining Silver Standard in all relevant in-house training required of the grade. These included Restricted Sales, Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, Fire Training and "Safe & Legal" (ie statutory retail requirements such as Sell/Use By Dates, Shelf Edge Labels, etc). I was also formally commended on several occasions by Management for my exceptional customer service and professionalism.Home Office Immigration Service July 1996 to September 2010After 18 years previous service in the Home Office I transferred to the UK Immigration Service at Glasgow Airport as the Executive Officer/Office Manager. My duties included managing a team of 4 Admin Officers and responsibility for all Accommodation and Health & Safety issues for the 7 airport Immigration Offices in the Scotland & Northern Ireland District. I was the designated Fire Evacuation & Health & Safety trainer to the District. Locally, I managed all staff Annual Leave, Sick Leave and Overtime records, completed monthly statistical returns for senior management and oversaw the daily running of the office, including routine escort and removal of immigration offenders. I also represented the Service at BAA liaison meetings with other Control Agency units and major commercial airport tenants.
