Mustique is a unique private island situated in the lesser Antilles, with 103 privately owned villas by the rich and famous.My role as the Operations Director is to ensure that the infrastructure of the island runs like clockwork so that our owners and guests have the 5* experience they expect.I have direct responsibility for utility provision (water and power, diesel & solar) the public grounds of the island, villa maintenance and large construction projects, Heavy equipment & waste disposal.The Operations Department consists of 130 full-time staff and 80 contracted staff in the construction area.I pride my self on being a strong team leader who is prepared to be hands-on when needed, yet distant enough to ensure that staff are always learning new methods for old issues.Having such a large portfolio means I have to be very mindful of costs and the bottom line and how this is affecting the profitability of the company or the project in question.
