Drove the R&D for Withings U-Scan, a first of its kind at-home urinalysis laboratory, technical manager of a cross-disciplinary team of chemists, physicists, mechanical, software and electrical engineers.Owner of the optical sensor design and testing.

• Key engineer for the flagship Body Cardio development, delivered hardware and software for the measurement of Pulsed Wave Velocity (related to blood pressure) for the first time on a body scale• Designed whole electronics for the Withings sleep sensor, rated best sleep tracker, improved SNR by 10x vs. previous version, allowing new measurements such as sleep apnea and breathing disturbances• Broad contributions in sensor integration (IMU, optical, MEMs, ...), analog electronics (ECG for the ScanWatch and Move ECG), actuator driving (motors for the Activité hands), power tree (battery life analysis), embedded firmware (digital signal processing for bioimpedance on the Body +)• Defined test procedures and implemented them on the assembly line at Chinese subcontractor factories, dealt with unforeseen issues (missing parts, software bugs, SMT problems) to finish assembly within schedule

Focused my doctoral research on self-assembled perovskite/spinel magnetoelectric nanocomposites for next-generation computation and data-storage media.• Invented a bottom-up process for long range ordering of nanocomposites via topographic templating (using focused ion beam or block-copolymers self-assembly)• Optimized growth parameters (temperature, deposition rate, oxygen partial pressure) for ferroic oxyde thin films by pulsed laser deposition on single crystal and buffered silicon substrates• Characterized topography, crystalline structure, magnetic and piezoelectric properties using electron microscopy, piezoelectric/magnetic force microscopy and XRD• Improved simulation algorithms (OOMMF) to include the effect of inhomogeneous strain on magnetization and better reflect experimental results• Designed LabVIEW interfaces for control of laboratory equipment and data acquisition from sensors, developed Matlab and Python scripts for data processing• Mentored undergraduate students, advised on research planning, trained on lab equipment, data processing and interpretation• Managed a thin film deposition laboratory, maintained experimental equipment, trained 20+ new users• Presented at 8 conferences, published 20+ scientific articles, 5 as first author
