I have been working in the Folding and Gluing industry for five year. I worked one year as a utility worker just feeding, and catching the finished goods. After one year i was promoted to Gluer Operator. Here i would learn a broad range of skills that i was able to apply to being an operator. I learned attention to detail and quickly learned how to run all of the machines at my company. I learned how to run any style of box and this requires some thought because you got to plan your set up on the machine. Always thinking about ways to improve each job you run and getting the job to run on the machine efficiently. I definitely enjoy working on these machines. I love to run the hard jobs that everybody seems to struggle with. It's very good feeling to get a job running really good after everybody has struggled and fought it. I enjoy helping my fellow operators when they are having problems on their machines. On our shift teamwork is very important. We all collectively work together to be able to produce cartons safely and efficiently and all help each other check the quality so the customer is satisfied.
