Based out of Upstate New York, Water Insecurity Correction Coalition, Inc. advocates for and directly aids residents of water-insecure communities, ensuring equitable access to clean water for people across the United States. WICC utilizes 5 key action areas to fight for water security for all Americans: fundraising development, grassroots activism, policy advocacy, youth empowerment, and meaningful education.

As an intern at Ballona Discovery Park, I had the privilege of actively engaging with the park's diverse community of visitors, including students, and serving as a liaison between LMU and park attendees. My responsibilities included providing informative tours and participating in park events to foster environmental education. During the summer, I took on the role of Teacher's Assistant, supporting classes in urban ecology and contributing to the growth of knowledge in this field. Additionally, I played a key role in updating educational modules for the Urban Ecology Learning Modules on the CURES website, helping to make valuable resources accessible to a wider audience. I am also working on various research studies within the park, focusing on projects such as oak tree studies to assess their health by measuring height and locations. These experiences have not only broadened my understanding of urban ecology but have also reinforced my commitment to environmental education and conservation

Working with the Aquatic Resources program to study Zebrafish, a model organism used for stem cell and cancer research. Collaborating with scientists and doctors from hospitals, institutes, and universities around the country to enter and analyze data from a project regarding Zebrafish nutrients and diet.

I am the proud founder and lead coordinating member of a youth grassroots organization dedicated to empowering students across Massachusetts. Our mission is to champion a comprehensive climate change and environmental awareness curriculum in schools statewide. We are committed to equipping the next generation with the knowledge and tools they need to make a meaningful impact in the fight for a sustainable future

Intern in the bacteria testing lab. Completed many tasks such as making different types of agar, bacteria broth, and chemical concentrations. Pipetted the agar into the plates, and used aseptic technique to swab bacteria samples onto them (such as E. Coli, Pseudomonas, E. Aerogenes, and more). Completed tests using water samples in which filtrate from filtered water was played onto petri dishes.

Worked on the “Salt Marsh Project” remotely during the coronavirus pandemic. Helped with entering and analyzing salt marsh plant data using programming software to map long term salt marsh degradation.
