• Command the Department's Proactive Investigative Team, specializing in major/violent crimes, pattern crimes, narcotics, and wanted persons.• Develop a documentation process for criminal informants/confidential sources, with attention to the protection of informant identities and adherence to relevant laws and best practices.• Process, document, and disseminate all criminal and drug intelligence received by the Department, while adhering to laws and policies concerning intelligence collection.• Coordinate and conduct surveillance operations to gather evidence for use in criminal investigations and prosecutions, without detection by suspects.• Manage a budget of over $20,000, including developing and implementing an appropriate system for paying confidential sources.• Serve as a member of the on-call Shooting Investigation Team, responding to violent crimes where the immediate identification of and follow-up on investigative leads is critical to solving a case.• As an FBI certified Crisis Negotiator, serve on an on-call hostage negotiator rotation for the purpose of making contact with persons in crisis and negotiating peaceful surrender in order to preserve life.• Supervise the Field Training Officer (FTO) program, the required field training for all police recruits, including assigning and monitoring FTOs, assisting in training of new FTOs, establishing performance standards for the program, and developing training briefs.• Awarded: Division Chief Award - Excellence in Policing, for the successful location and capture of a high-risk fugitive (2021)• Awarded: Division Chief Award - Excellence in Policing, for the successful resolution, employing negotiation tactics in coordination with patrol and SWAT responders, of a critical incident involving an armed, barricaded individual (2022)• Testified as an expert witness in cellular tower data analysis in a criminal trial (2022)
