- Designed and implemented automation for Kubernetes clusters bring up leveraging Terraform, Helm, and EKS. - Wrote a proposal to create an associate tool that will reduce the time to enroll an Android device by more than 90% and will allow for faster disaster recovery.- Designed and led the implementation of a VPN solution that allowed developers and QA teams throughout the physical retail organization to test associate tools from Android devices while working from home (due to the pandemic). This project wasn't in our roadmap, so I had to influence upper management to get buy-in.- Defined a roadmap and vision to scale our infrastructure to support significantly more devices.- Led a team of 3 developers to create an identity provider solution to allow non-Amazon employees to login to our tools. I also communicated across teams to ensure that other services would be integrated with our new solution in time for launch.- Brought up an additional stack for our authentication service and successfully split the traffic reducing the blast radius of an outage by 50% and p99 latency by 30%.- Designed and led the implementation of a simple configuration platform that allowed teams within the physical retail organization to deploy changes to the associate tools safely and incrementally.- Led the conversation with an external organization (not within physical retail) to define the requirements for them to onboard to our platform.

- Led a team of 2 engineers to implement an experiment to allow Amazon.com returns to be accepted in our physical stores. The experiment was successful and was deployed to all of Amazon's stores including Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star and Whole Foods.- Created and executed a plan to perform load tests on our services. This allowed us to find and fix multiple bottlenecks where we were under-provisioned.- Developed a notifications service for the associate tools which led to a 75% reduction in the time that products were misplaced in stores.- Created a diagnostics tool to allow launch teams to validate associate tools were ready for store launch.- Optimized our search service reducing latency by 90%.
