Joined Welsh’s Sofidel plant for two years as a lean manufacturing engineer specialist helping to develop and grow lean’s methods across the converting department.Key information:Overall converting plant OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) 2018 VS 2019: +2.5%Total overall budget: <10k£Became highly competent in both spoken and written EnglishIn detail:Management of different projects link to production field and lean methods in particular:5S - deployment of the methodology across all converting lines increasing safety and reducing time waste into the working space. Operator training and new habits inputs.AM (autonomous maintenance) - lead of AM’s project group on packaging equipment: inspection round established, TAG system. Allowing feedback from operators to perform preventive maintenance and decreasing downtime’s breakdown. Involving operator into equipment care.FI (focused improvement) - management of several projects aiming specific recurrent problems that were not able to be solved by a simple action plan. Tools used: Kaizen structure, video analysis, 5 why, 4Ms.SMED - definition of standard operations for the packaging equipment’s changeover campaigns. Before changeover check list, full standard detail operations, feedback record system from operators reducing changeover time waste and improving setup phases.AUDIT - performed as a coordinator recurring audits in order to guarantee over time the continuity of all methods in place.

During these 3 years in apprenticeship in a food company, I had the chance to work in several departments:#Maintenance department: - I was responsible of the CMMS development in the factory (Computer Maintenance Management System). The software is actually operational and used by the preventive and curative maintenance services for all their operations.- I was in charge of elaborate the standard schedules preventive maintenance for all the machine park (16 production lines). #New works department:- I was responsible to put into conformity an entire line of production repatriated from Germany.#Production department (continuous improvement):- I led a SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) project on a case packer in order to reduce changeover time. At the end the time has been reduced by 55% and the B/C (benefit/cost) ratio was 7.7. - I have manage a line pilot project which consist of reaching the step 3 of the autonomous maintenance. The step 3 was achieved and the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) stabilized.- Finally, for my end of studies projects, I have lead a zero breakdowns and zero dust project on a production line. The results were a decrease of 50% for the number of breakdowns and a time cleaning reduction of 77%. The B/C ratio was 10.7.
