I am a bilingual student nearing completion of my studies in the dual honours bachelor’s program in biotechnology at the University of Ottawa. Originally from the South Shore of Montreal, I chose to enroll at the University of Ottawa due to its unique dual program. Here, I believed I could develop my scientific curiosity and analytical abilities in biochemistry while also tapping into my creativity and problem-solving skills through chemical engineering coursework. My academic pursuits led me to work in the spirits industry, where I honed my skills in quality control by establishing robust procedures to ensure consistent production and sanitation standards. I also had the opportunity to work in product development, focused on designing and optimizing fermentation and distillation procedures. Through my experiences in product design and the completion of my undergraduate theses, I uncovered my passion for research and development. While working on projects with biomaterials and nanoparticle catalysts, the constant pursuit of optimization was challenging yet incredibly rewarding, especially when I got my first academic paper published. Outside of academics, I sharpened my project management and communication skills through various leadership positions in extracurricular organizations.I am committed to continuous improvement and driving innovation in every project I undertake.
