Prototype manufacturing is low volume, and high energy. This position has taught me significantly about problem resolution at a fast pace. It has also exposed me to multiple processes such as PLC's, robotics, machining, welding, and computer vision systems. It is truly a position in which I look forward to learning something new on a daily basis. Things I got to work on include: • Developing controlled manufacturing processes for axle prototypes.• Designing, sourcing, and purchasing the tools necessary to fabricate and test the axle prototypes.• Documenting the manufacturing process through control plans and picture processes and transferring any lessons learned to the assembly plant once an axle is ready for full production.• Designed, programmed and fabricated a computer vision system and fixture to monitor and measure gear mesh quality

Working with BRP was an amazing and challenging experience. The engineering team worked very hard to provide a product that is unmatched by any competitor on the market. The most challenging part of this internship was communication of technical reports in both French and English. Things I got to work on include:•Designing, testing, and implementing engineering tests for field warranty issues on engine and control components; driving required lab tests and generating technical reports of the results.•Translating engineering test and validation documents from English to French and vice versa.•Developing and implementing design projects related to costs savings and weight reduction.

This is my first internship experience. I got to be part of an amazing team with strengths in different fields. I saw how important team dynamics are in a manufacturing environment where every second counts. What an incredible and life changing experience! Although I was only production supervisor for three weeks, it has defined the way I think about manufacturing and engineering entirely. Specifics: • Supervised a production line of 32 operators and met daily production goals• Insured the safety of all operators and maintained a safe work environment with 0 safety incidents• Strategized the logistics of incoming and outgoing parts with industrial engineers to increase overall equipment effectiveness.
