During my 9 years in Africa, I worked for a variety of clients in assisting with proposal development, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Past clients include: PSI, Marie Stopes International, Population Council, GOAL, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, International AIDS Society, DfID, and KfW. Additionally, I became involved quantitative research training through instruction and mentorship through local universities and organizational workshops designed for staff skill building. At present, I am also serving as Technical Advisor to Equilo, a new data-based platform for addressing gender-based disparities in health and other sectors.

Prepared public health impact analyses for the California Health Benefit Review Program, which evaluates proposed health insurance legislation that would mandate that health insurers to cover specific benefits.

Participated in a variety of projects, including: examining state coverage of tobacco cessation treatments, assessing the provision of charity care among California’s hospitals, and analyzing mental health data from the California Health Interview Survey resulting in a report on mental health profiles for California counties.
