About Nicole B.

As a young nonprofit professional in Northwest Arkansas, I thrive on building meaningful connections through volunteering, fundraising, advocacy, and community networking. I currently work at Sunshine School & Development Center, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals impacted by disability through education, therapy, and advocacy. Since 1958, Sunshine School has positively impacted thousands of lives, supporting families, enabling students to break free from labels, and helping adults with disabilities thrive in their communities. In my current role as Donor Relations Coordinator, I assist in planning fundraising events, creating donor stewardship practices & strategies, managing our donor CRM, and coordinating volunteers. My previous experience includes serving as Development Coordinator at Open Avenues, where I managed a donor CRM, formalized donor stewardship practices, coordinated volunteers, assisted in social media and community engagement efforts, drafted grant proposals, and planned fundraising events like SOAR NWA. As Unit Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton County, I gained key leadership, operations & facility management, and program development skills. At the Museum of Native American History, I honed my abilities in museum management, event planning, grant writing, and community outreach. Additionally, at Historic Cane Hill, I contributed to preserving regional history through program creation, community engagement, and educational initiatives.I am an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) - Northwest Arkansas Chapter, and a former member of Arkansas Living History Association (ALHA), Arkansas Museum Association (AMA), and Arkansas Historical Association (AHA). I had the privilege of serving as the Northwest Arkansas regional representative for AMA and on its professional development committee, as well as presenting at the 2020 ALHA conference. In my spare time, I volunteer as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters NWA. I’ve also enjoyed supporting the Razorback Marching Band as Game Day Staff, serving in leadership roles for the Southwest District Alumni Association (SWDAA), and volunteering at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.
