Responsible for ounce production budgeting and forecasting, reagent consumption optimization saved +$3M over 1 year, and mid-range and long-range planning with mine engineers and process ops. Acted as ops foreman for 6 months and supervised junior met. Full Potential coordinator for Long Canyon, supporting all departments at site.

Project manager of $7M project to bring line-power from 120kV tap to Hollister mine site. Project management included coordinating with utility company, managing contractor, ensured all permits and legal documents were submitted on time and approved, tracked and evaluated budget and schedule, and worked with the BLM, tribal monitors and archeologists on culturally sensitive areas as related to construction. Other responsibilities included ore characterization studies, greenfield process development, pilot plants, and supported operations in heap leaching and milling.

Manage a team of fourteen with seven direct reports (engineers). Responsible for team and individual development with direct focus on technical development for entry level engineers, project planning and follow-through with mid-level engineers, and building team relationship between POX and Roaster groups. Assist with strategic planning including evaluating metal plans and associated operations costs. Role has refined my communication and time management skills while enhancing employee motivation and empowerment through delegation and regular feedback.

Manage a group of two metallurgists and two met technicians. Focus on improving production through improved gold recovery and increased throughput. Projects in wet grind, autoclave, carbon-in-leach, carbon strip, environmental controls, and reagents.

Worked on a large capital project for 1 year during scoping and feasibility stages. This included organizing testing programs, analyzing data, and supervising met techs and operators. Work included characterizing arsenic effects on gold recovery for various ores processed through the Roaster. This included coordinating testwork, analyzing results, and distributing reports to key stakeholders. Also perform monthly metallurgical accounting and process ounce allocation reports. Trained in project management.Metallurgist, Wet MillWorked in the wet mill for 2 years with focus on grind, strip, and mercury. Projects included conducting circuit surveys and modeling using JKSimMet, monitoring strip recovery, reagent budgeting, and tracking mercury. Compass I September 2010 Training program for new engineers; included cross-training with open pit and underground mining, business objectives, communications, and in-depth understanding of gold processing operations including pressure oxidation and roasting. Currently enrolled in Compass II for further advancement.

Projects included mass and heat balance on crude distillation unit, worked impact items regarding safety valves, used Aspen Hysys, Visio, and Excel.

Six Sigma trained, worked various aspects of missile production. Received award for attention to detail by finding document reference error on engineering drawing.

Designed components and systems for advanced research in fiber optic waveguides. Wrote program in Mathematica to reverse calculate anisotropic optical constants using the Newton-Raphson method.
