About Nicole Campbell Css, Gsc

I am a competent, bright and dedicated safety professional who constantly strives to better myself both personally and professionally. In less than 10 years, I have built a solid foundation in Construction Safety and I owe a great deal of thanks to the men and women I’ve worked with for the practical, hands on experience I’ve gained. I’ve worked closely with many fantastic companies, learning trade specific and general contractor safety, from Demoltion to Roofing, and everything in between. My skill set includes strong experience in conducting hazard assessments, job site inspections, safety audits, PPE & Scaffold Inspections, accident investigations, light duty/return to work programs, site/crew tool box talks, JOHSC, safety program creation and implementation and much more. In my career I have overseen the successful adaptation of safety on a multitude of large and small scale projects including condominium complexes, industrial renovation projects and franchise fit ups and have had the opportunity to work on several complex projects including Hospital and Wastewater facility renovations. I’m looking for the right fit. For me, this means working for a company that values dedicated people who want to grow alongside them. I’m looking to join a team of smart, funny, humble people who appreciate authentic and fluid communication. If you are interested in finding out whether I’d be a good fit with your company, I would really like to hear from you.

  • Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association
    Cor Administrator
Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association Feb 2014 - Sep 2014
As a COR Administrator I was one of the key contacts to companies in their quest to become COR certified or maintain their safety certified status. I provided guidance on and outlines of the COR certification requirements including training, program and documentation management. I assisted our members who had a variety of general or company specific questions about the process, the OHS ACT & Regulations or with technical support for our online COR Evaluation instrument. I also reviewed the internal COR Evaluation submissions companies conducted and issued the Certificates of Recognition, Letters of Good Standing/Reciprocity and Corrective Action Letters when program deficiencies required so.I participated in an External Evaluation which helped me gain insight into the vast amount of knowledge our OH&S Advisors posses thus assisting me in my own evaluation of safety programs and with my review of the reports our Advisors completed on their external evaluations. Aside from those focal responsibilities, I also provided administrative support to my department through various reports, mail outs, member requests and back up support to other departments when required. A recent restructuring of the company and my position occurred simultaneously with a job offer I couldn't refuse and though it was a difficult decision to leave NSCSA and the many wonderful relationships I built with my co-workers and our members, the opportunity to advance aligned more with my own strategic goals, so after careful consideration I happily accepted the new job. I am currently enjoying 2 glorious weeks of vacation, after which, I will commence my new role as a Safety Supervisor.I am thankful for the knowledge and experience my roles at the association gave to me, I am humbled to have worked so closely with the amazingly competent Advisors and other Administrators there but I am also very excited to begin this new chapter in my life.
  • Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association
    Strategic Services Administrator
Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association May 2013 - Feb 2014
In May of this year I accepted a new position as the Administrator for the Strategic Services department. I currently provide administrative support to my department, our Member Outreach Program and also lend a hand in several new initiatives. I am the key contact for high school students/teachers looking to obtain safety training courses that NSCSA has made available at no charge to all high school students. I also assist with system testing and research focusing primarily on ways to engage our youth in the safety culture. I also analyze data, maintain WCB stats and provide back up support to several other departments. In my down time I am in the classroom as a student myself. No matter what I'm doing, I continue to work towards becoming the best possible version of myself both professionally and personally.
  • Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association
    Training Administrator
Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association Aug 2012 - May 2013
In August 2012 I started working in the training department at NSCSA. I started as a Training Administrator where my main responsibilities included assisting our members in selecting the courses that best suited their needs, setting up private training events and being a key contact for new CSS students. ( Construction Safety Supervisor). My social and considerate nature made me a perfect fit for that role. In the short time I held the position, I enhanced the CSS Certification process, built several administrative tools that helped gain efficiency and forged strong relationships with my coworkers and members of our organization. I became known for my dependability and work ethic.
  • Nova Scotia Power
    Billing Clerk
Nova Scotia Power Jan 2008 - Feb 2012
I started in the Contact Centre at NSPI where I initially handled general residential requests. It wasn't long before I began handling a variety of Billing & Usage inquires as well as assisting the Fraud Investigations team when needed. I provided impeccable customer service to our customers both internally and externally and in true "team player" fashion, worked overtime whenever a power outage required me to.Approximately a year into the position, a Billing Clerk position came up in the Billing Department. I jumped on the opportunity and after the interview process, happily accepted the position. While working for the Billing Department as a Clerk, I worked on a variety of reports, billing issues and financing requests. I was cross trained as a Billing Specialist and while covering those responsibilities I set up preauthorized payments, budget billing and a multitude of miscellaneous billing situations. I created work instructions when new systems were implemented and was asked to represent the department when testing a new service system. My keen eye was able to catch several glitches before the new system went live and if I'm speaking honestly, I can admit this was one of my proudest moments.I worked countless overtime hours for other departments as well as my own. I committed long hours and weekends to testing our systems again whenever rates increased. I represented my department on a committee that worked together to build a better workplace for employees and created a quarterly departmental newsletter that eventually became quite popular in other departments as well. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I had at NSPI and still maintain solid friendships with several of my old coworkers.
