My fieldwork typically involved identifying threats to water quality, recording photo documentation, and working with residents and business owners to implement/improve stormwater best management practices. I am experienced with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and TrackIT to write NPDES inspection reports, log corrective actions, and track implementation progress. As my team’s primary liaison, I was responsible for consistent communication with clients, and made sure to incorporate preferences, corrections, and overall feedback into our final draft of the program. To emphasize the significance of our project, I worked diligently to translate complex Clean Air Act regulations into powerful narratives. These were essential to crafting digestible presentation materials and reports. My team and I delivered our findings to an audience of 300+ individuals, including students, sustainability professionals, and the general public. Show less

Furthermore, to illustrate municipal planning trends, I synthesized our data into succinct Excel graphs. These figures were later used to devise tangible recommendations, and were presented to an audience of stormwater professionals. As a supplement to this project, I also conducted interviews with stormwater managers to evaluate their use of green infrastructure in everyday practice. Show less

Addressing the rising prevalence of urban heat, we used qualitative coding software to examine municipal planning responses across the United States' 70 most populous cities. This required a comprehensive codebook of study variables, which I helped develop through routine correspondence with peers. Throughout the process, I became familiarized with key sustainability concepts, including climate adaptation, (hard/soft) mitigation, and multiple dimensions of climate vulnerability. Additionally, I was responsible for reviewing these terms in context; I curated an extensive database of planning documents and identified over 20,000 coding segments of relevant planning action.
