I have 6.5 years of experience working as a child protection social worker. Over the years, I have grown so much as an employee and an individual. I have navigated really challenging, emotionally charged, heavy conversations. I know how to talk to people about really big life moments and help support them with natural and community resources to help ensure the safety of children. I have de-escalated clients, help children regulate after really difficult disclosures. I have worked through times where we have very high workloads (averaging 3 new families a week) and have to have really good task management and prioritization. I have learned to separate work and home, and how to set really good work/home boundaries. I have taken a motivational interviewing training that has helped me really gain some great communication tools as well. I have great engagement skills even when a family is upset with me being involved. I have a passion for helping others, and have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of families across the Larimer County!
