On February 1, 2018, OSF Healthcare took over ownership of Presence United Samaritans Medical Center.

I currently work in the Intensive Care Unit at Presence Health in Danville, Illinois. My every day job expectations are to provide safe and effective care to those people who require close observation and extra monitoring. It is my duty to ensure that medical devices such as mechanical ventilators, feeding tubes, catheters, and other life supporting treatments are working properly. It is also imperative that I monitor the patient's heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate for any signs of distress. As an ICU nurse, I work with physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners to closely observe the patient and note for any change in their medical condition. I am also responsible for feeding, bathing, grooming, medication intake, dressing changes, and assisting the patient with activities of daily living. I practice not only caring for the patient, but caring for their families' as well by providing them with education and support. I am able to provide clear directions to those working with me under times of duress, as well as take direction when my help is needed. I am familiar with medication drips such as but not limited to: antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, vasodilators, sedatives, insulin, general anesthetics, and anticoagulants. In my work place, our responsibilities also include the Code Team and Rapid Response Team.

As a nurse at North Logan Health Care Center, a skilled nursing facility, it is my responsibility to appropriately assess residents in order to administer medications and wound treatments as ordered by their physician. I work in collaboration with certified nursing assistants, physical therapists, nursing managers, and volunteers in order to allow the residents to maintain their highest level of independence while receiving 24 hour nursing care.
