Act 1I wanted to be an actor or a drama teacher at least. I made a call. The education department advised teaching one subject like drama was pretty much impossible. They mentioned drama AND maths (oh no!) or geography (oh no no!). Deakin University student acceptance held no purpose. In that dramatic moment I almost fell, instead I did a stage fall, picked myself up and looked to the future.Act 2 Movie and TV extra on Neighbours, amateur theatre and a lot of customer service exp. Travelled O/S and got a taste of Mktg working in London. Back in Australia I studied Mktg & was the understudy to my first boss. Got my marketing chops learning a lot about customer segmentation, target markets and comm messages. I was getting good. Understanding customers to market to was not dissimilar to understanding different characters. How do they live, what are they searching for, attracted to and interests. What makes this character happy or curious?Event and seminar mgmt & copy writing was like a performance. Getting people interested, paid up, a profitable show, a happy audience, analysing results and ROI to create future successful shows were learnt skills. Team work, casting the right supplier or speaker who wasn't just about the limelight, also made me a good judge of character along with my intuition and natural business relationship building.Act 3Agency life was FULL of dramatics. Account Mgr then Director provided an endless number of characters to observe and learn from. I admired many highly creative star performers and directors whilst working on brands like Officeworks, Myer, Linde Gas, MSD, TAC, World Vision and more.Act 4BlueFrog Marketing was born. My bus. partner & I provide Strategic Mktg or act as a outsourced marketing dept. helping to create the future for Clients. Our audience is expansive; finance and investment, steel, audiovisual, home and construction suppliers. Clients we put on the stage include; Melbourne Brick, Infrabuild, Austube Mills, Finwell Group, D.I.B Audiovisual & more.The future - we continue to provide strategic services driving our passion for helping business owners be much better at their role.
