About Nicole Lunder
I thrive in a job environment where my efforts serve a real, important purpose. I love that my job today is to keep our warfighters safe and enable them to keep the people safe. I strive to make a difference in spite of big bureaucracy. This is a key to what drives me. I thrive in an entrepreneurial/analytical environment, where I can be on the cutting edge of developing, implementing, and integrating new technology with mission relevance. My goal is to create and advance the cutting edge of Electromagnetic Attack (EA) systems, pulling from my knowledge of RF systems, digital signal processing (DSP), and networked communications (SATCOM, IoT, RF.) It’s important to ensure the technology achieves operational relevance, so I enjoy staying up to date on US strategy and mission CONOPS. I love gaining new technical and/or strategic insights daily. I'm a passionate, hard-working person who thrives on grasping problems and projects with a big-picture view. While I am still very detail-oriented, I don't let that skew my scope of the project as a whole. I draw from my varied RF, electrical, and audio engineering work experiences at Lockheed Martin, plus the experiences at my co-ops, which taught me about the importance of customer and supplier relationships. I hold a Master's in Systems Engineering from Cornell University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from RIT, where I also minored in International Business. The majority of my practical learning in college came from my teamwork and leadership through the Varsity Crew team, where I had the honor of being Captain of the Crew team my senior year.I believe that an enabling company culture has a huge effect on the success of its employees. I also believe that what you think about, grows. I have a need to learn more about the technical theory of my field, and how to make things work better and in a more clever way than they currently do. The more I learn, the more questions I have. Outside of work, I love outdoor activities - obstacle course racing, skiing, rock climbing, hiking, rowing, cycling - you name it, I probably do it.
