I am an Irish photographer who graduated from Manchester School of Art with a first-class honors. My art practice is largely based around lived experiences and my relationship to place, migration and theories of identity. The development of my work usually starts with a methodical process of research and practical investigation, finding inspiration from literature, the everyday, archived material and found imagery which relate to key themes of displacement and the movement of people across borders. The transition and movement across these landscapes encourages me to look at past histories of Irish diaspora and the borders hidden within the landscapes of the everyday. The work often takes me back to my home in Northern Ireland where I work predominantly with digital processes, moving image, found imagery and documentary photography.
